New Fish Tank Tips: If you enjoy reading, go to the library or buy tropical fish books. Get a couple of books on aquarium information or the species you are interested in getting. Reading a book is probably the fastest way to get up to speed and it provides a great reference for the future. On this site you can find some of the fish books we’ve reviewed.

The Tanganyika killifish (Lamprichthys tanganicanus) is a species of fish in the Poeciliidae family. It is endemic to Lake Tanganyika, where it forms large schools, mainly close to rocky shores but also pelagically off shore. The Tanganyika killifish grows to a length of 15 cm. It is an egglayer with external fertilization, and deposits its eggs in narrow crevices. It is fished commercially for food, and also for the aquarium trade.
