New Fish Tank Tips: Research the fish you would like to keep and then aquascape your tank for the fish that will be living in it. You want to be able to meet the requirements of the fish you are keeping and modifying the aquascape afterwards is sometimes not an option.

The electric blue hap (Sciaenochromis ahli) is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. It is found in Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. Its natural habitat is freshwater lakes.

The electric blue ahli is a popular aquarium fish due to its colouration. It should be kept in tanks of no less than 300 litres. It is an aggressive fish and is usually kept one male per tank. The females are darker and slightly smaller. In order to keep more than one of these fish it is necessary to keep them in large numbers in a spacious environment. Males will usually fight and large numbers prevent a single fish from being targeted. They prefer rocky exhibits with coral sand. They often attack other cichlids of a blue colouration, therefore, when introducing it to a tank with other blue fish it should only be kept with large blue moori and large frontosa.
